Welcome to the Samsung It’s Time to Tab™ Video Competition!

The SAMSUNG It’s Time to Tab™ video competition is a chance for you to make your own video about the SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 10.1. Make your own video for this competition, and compete for $15,000 in cash awards, including a $7,000 Grand Prize. The It’s Time to Tab™ video competition will run from Monday May 2, 2011 through June 27, 2011. People can begin uploading videos starting Monday May 2, 2011. Between Monday May 2, 2011 and June 27, 2011, eligible participants can upload videos, vote for their favorites, and comment on videos. June 27, 2011 will be the last day to upload videos and to vote for videos. On July 15, 2011, the final winners of the video competition will be announced.
There is $15,000 in cash awards for the videos in this competition, with a Grand Prize of $7,000 and a prize for the best video submitted before May 30, 2011 (the “Early Entry Prize”). There are two ways to win cash awards for submitted videos: SAMSUNG Client Awards and Voting Awards. Ten videos plus the Early Entry Prize will be chosen by SAMSUNG for awards (including the $7,000 Grand Prize), and five prizes will be decided by popular vote. Even if you’re not a video maker, you can still participate, and potentially win a prize. There is a $500 random drawing prize to reward people that share the competition or a video with others. The sharing sweepstakes begins on Monday May 2, 2011, when the video competition opens for submissions, and closes on the July 15, 2011 at 12pm GMT. You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for the sharing competition. You will find the rules for the sharing sweepstakes here. Sharing can be done either from the homepage of the competition site or from an individual video page and can begin on Monday May 2, 2011. The competition brief or an individual video can be shared through Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or by email, by clicking on the icon in the share toolbar. Eligible participants can join both the video competition and the sharing competition.
You must be 14 years or older be eligible to participate in the video competition. Employees of SAMSUNG and employees of any of SAMSUNG affiliates, relatives of SAMSUNG or SAMSUNG affiliate employees, and employees of Zooppa and their relatives are not eligible to participate.
The SAMSUNG It’s Time to Tab™ competition is powered by Zooppa, and governed by Zooppa’s Official Rules, Terms & Conditions and Submission Agreement. However, in the event of a conflict between the terms of the Competition Brief and a competition rule, term or condition set forth in the Official Rules, the Submission Agreement or the Terms & Conditions, the terms of the Competition Brief will govern.

There are several ways to participate – you can create and upload a video, and you can vote, comment, and share videos.
This SAMSUNG It’s Time to Tab™ competition is managed by Zooppa, and you must register as a Zooppa member in order to upload a video. Zooppa is a platform for staging video competitions. Anyone can register for a Zooppa membership, it’s free, it’s easy, and you’ll be prompted to join when you click on “Submit a Video”.
Of course, if you’re already a Zooppa member, you will not need to register. You will need to log in, but you’ll be prompted to log in when you click “Submit a Video”.
In order to register for a Zooppa membership and submit a video to the It’s Time to Tab™ competition, you’ll need to enter your full name, an email address, your physical address, your birth year, and you’ll need to create a username. Nothing will be mailed to you other than in the event a prize must be delivered, and the only emails you will receive will be a confirmation of your Zooppa account creation, and confirmation emails if you upload a video (unless you opt in for emails from Zooppa).
After you register for a Zooppa account, you will receive an email asking to confirm this registration (sometimes the email goes into people’s spam folders, so if you don’t see it right away, it could be there). Click on the link in the email. In the browser window that opens after the click, you’ll be asked to authorize that it’s okay that the SAMSUNG site references your Zooppa account information that you just entered. Click yes and you will be taken to the upload interface.
In the upload interface, you will first need to name your video. Then click on “Choose File” to find the video file on your computer. If you’d like a particular image to represent your video when it’s displayed in thumbnail form, you can choose that as well. Videos with thumbnails are more likely to be played. If you don’t select a thumbnail for your video, Zooppa will automatically grab a frame from your video for a thumbnail image. For this competition, videos must be 60 seconds or less, and less than 50MB. See the brief page for additional video specifications. Check the box to agree to the competition Terms & Conditions, and click “Upload Your Video”. You will receive an email confirmation that your video has been received within a couple minutes.
Your video may not immediately display on the site – it can take several hours to encode. Videos must be on-brief, and must not be obscene, profane, hateful, harmful to others, or to SAMSUNG’s brand.
In order to vote for a video, you must be a Zooppa member. Click on “vote for this video”, and the signup interface will pop up. After you sign up, you’ll have to confirm your new account with the email that you used to sign up. Check your spam folder if the confirmation email doesn’t come through. Once you have confirmed your registration, you can allot 1 to 5 stars for all videos. The more you like a video, the more stars you should give it.
To comment on videos, you’ll have to register for a Disqus account. Click on “sign up”, and you’ll be taken through the signup process. You may use these comment boxes to discuss the video on the page. Comments not about the video, or comments that violate the terms and conditions of the competition may be removed.
To share the competition itself, click on one of the social media icons (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or email) on the sharing bar on the SAMSUNG It’s Time to Tab™ competition home page. Similarly, to share a particular video, click on one of the social media icons on the video’s page.
When you click on one of these social media icons, you will be asked to enter an email address. These will be used to track your sharing & to enter you into the sharing sweepstakes. Your username, which is the first part of your email, will appear in a sharing leaderboard on the competition home page if you are one of the top fifteen sharers of competition content. Your email address will not be used except in the event you win the sharing sweepstakes.
If you click on the Facebook, Twitter or Youtube icons, you will be taken to your Facebook, Twitter or Youtube profile page. If you do not have a Facebook, Twitter or Youtube account, you will have to sign up for an account to use these methods to share.
To share by Email, click on the email icon in the sharing toolbar. This will pop up your email. Fill in the address line of your email with friends and send the email to them. You will be credited for any friends who visit the competition due to your email.
Once three people have visited the SAMSUNG It’s Time to Tab™ video competition through your sharing, you will be entered into the $500 sweepstakes drawing. After you have shared the competition content with three people, you will be alerted through a dialog box that will pop up when you return to the SAMSUNG It’s Time to Tab™ competition.
The drawing for the $500 sharing sweepstakes will occur on July 15th 2011 at 2pm Pacific Time. The winner will be alerted through email.
